Innovative

We have been involved in professional research for over a decade, working in teams dedicated to various subjects. We develop (for our own use as well as for others) coherent principles in all areas of sustainable building that have yet to be thoroughly explored. All of our final reports and scientific findings may be accessed by the public, and are made available to colleagues.

Using a real building project, we study individual topics that are generally of interest to a broad audience, adopting a theoretical and interdisciplinary approach, and then implement them in the actual built object. This integrative approach, using testing in pilot projects, is a highly viable alternative in the development of sustainable architecture. Examples of our applied architectural research are the Schiestlhaus, a passive house building located in an extreme environment at 2000 meters; ENERGYbase, a passive house office building with maximum user comfort supplied by renewable energy; and gugler cross media, a plus-energy media center with the highest level of material recycling.
