Ursula Schneider, Fritz Oettl, and Claire Poutaraud founded pos Architects in the year 2000. We are a registered limited liability civil engineering company since 2002.

Our expertise and specialization lies with the design and execution of holistic sustainable building strategies. These are developed together with our integral design team and demonstrate a high level of innovation. Our specialties lie in office construction, housing, public buildings, mid-sized commercial properties, and revitalization projects.

We have been working in solar, ecological, and energy efficient architecture since 1980. The passive building has been standard practice for us for fifteen years. We are now working on plus-energy buildings and C2C (cradle-to-cradle), i.e., 100% reusable buildings, while dedicating ourselves to user comfort in all areas of sensory perception as well (thermal, hygric, visual, haptic, auditory).

Our intensive research work has made it possible for us to develop an advanced level of expertise in the design of sustainable buildings, and to access the latest innovations in applied building research at any time.

The integrative approach, using pilot projects for trials, is a highly viable means of developing sustainable qualities in architecture.

Examples of our applied architectural research are the Schiestlhaus, a passive house building located in an extreme environment at 2000 meters; ENERGYbase, a passive house office building with maximum user comfort supplied by renewable energy; and gugler cross media, a plus-energy media center with the highest level of material recycling.

In addition, we have been able to expand our experience in optimizing climate systems with projects in Mediterranean, tropical, and northern European climatic zones.
